Prof. M K Veeraiah born on June 01 1955 in Muttanahally, Maddur Taluk, Mandya District, completed his schooling from the same place and did his Bachelors degree in Science (1977) and Post Graduation in Chemistry (1979) from University of Mysore. He also obtained the degrees such as Bachelor of Education (1980) and Master of Education (1989) from University of Mysore and Annamalai University respectively. He did his Ph.D (1998) degree from University of Mysore.
Prof. M K Veeraiah has 33 years of experience in teaching including research. He started his carrier as Lecturer in Education at Sri Siddhartha College of Education, Tumkur & rose to the position of Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology (SSIT), Tumkur. He is a member of Academic Council & Board of Studies in SSIT (A constituent college of Sri Siddhartha University, Tumkur).He has served as NSS officer for five years from 1987-1992 & conducted regular activities and special camps at rural areas. He has organized five Blood Donation camps in association with Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore and Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur.
Prof. M K Veeraiah has served as Coordinator, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Study Centre from May 1988- April 2008 (10 years). Also he has rendered his services as coordinator of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) Study Centre SSIT from November 2000 – April 2009 (8½ years).
Prof. M K Veeraiah was instrumental in establishing i] Research Centre in Chemistry affiliated to VTU, Belgaum ii] IGNOU Study Centre & iii] KSOU Study Centre at SSIT, Tumkur. He was the member of expert committee appointed by VTU, Belgaum for the recognition of Research Centers in Engineering Colleges. His field of interest is Chemical Dynamics and Reaction Mechanism, Polymer Blends & Interpenetrating Polymer Network Systems, Polymer Metal Complexes, Polymer Composites and Corrosion Inhibition.
Prof. M K Veeraiah has more than 20 research papers to his credit at National and International conferences and reputed journals. He has participated in number of conferences and symposiums. He has organized two workshops on various topics for the faculty of Engineering Colleges affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. Currently five candidates are pursuing PhD, under his guidance, out of which one has submitted his thesis, other one has submitted the synopsis of the thesis. During 2009,2010 four candidates have been awarded M.Phil degree under his supervision.
In view of sharing knowledge and serve technical and scientific community, he became the member of many professional bodies such as Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Indian Council of Chemists (ACC), Indian Chemical Society (ICS), and All India Management Association (AIMA).
Prof. M K Veeraiah has presented a paper at “Singapore International Chemistry Conference” held at Singapore in December 2007 and also visited some important places in Singapore and Malaysia. Also he has presented papers at “International Conference on Frontiers in Chemical Research” (ICFCR-2008) held at Mangalore University, December 2008 & International Conference on Current Trends in Chemistry and Biochemistry (ICCTCB-2009) held at Central College Bangalore University, December 2009.He is the recipient of many prestigious awards such as “Best Student” award (1977), “Best IGNOU Coordinator” award (2005) and “Suvarna Kannadiga” award (2006).
Prof. M K Veeraiah is involved in social activities in the location & is serving as Hon. President of “Nagareeka Vedike” Saraswathipuram, Tumkur. He is the devotee of “Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Ashram”, Tumkur.
Recently during June- August 2010 he has visited some premier Universities such as Harvard, Princeton, Boston, MIT, University at Buffalo, Polytechnic Institute of New York University, Pennsylvania State University and some places of importance in USA.

Dr. M Siddappa is presently working as Dean (Academics and Research), Professor and Head , Department of Computer Science and Engineering. M Siddappa graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from P E S college of Engineering, Mandya (1989), obtained Master’s degree from Sri Jayachamarajendra college of Engineering, Mysore in the year 1993 and doctoral degree from Chennai in the year 2010. He held various positions of academic and administrative responsibilities in Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology Tumkur since 1989.
He has authored more than 45+ technical papers in International and National journals as well as conferences. He is having good citation index with h-index as 7 and i10 index 5.
He has teaching experience of 29 years at undergraduate level, guided 4 Ph.D., scholars presently guiding 05 research scholars for Ph.D., He is Life member of ISTE and senior member of IEEE.
He has been conferred with the ‘RAJARAMBAPU PATIL NATIONAL AWARD” for promising Engineering Teacher for creative work done in Technical Education (2011). He has also worked as Member, Board of studies, Bangalore (2000-2002) in B.Sc. (Computer Science), Board of Examinations in University of VTU 1 Terms and currently member of Academic council Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SAHE) and Member Board of Studies in Computer Science and Engineering in SAHE, Tumkur, Board of studies member in RVCE and SJCE for Information Science and Engineering (Autonomous) since 2015.
He has undergone outcome Based Education official training from National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi. He is a peer committee member of NBA, he visited many colleges in accreditation process in India.
His areas of interest are Data structure and Algorithms, Computer network and Image Processing. He visited USA in the year 2005 & 2008 and presented paper with financial assistance of UGC, New Delhi. He visited China in the year 2009 and presented paper with financial assistance of AICTE, New Delhi.
He was also instrumental in design and implementation of network connectivity through campus wide networking and also in setting up of Wi-Fi campus in Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology
He has reviewed journal papers of Elsivier science and IEEE journal once. He is on the editorial Board on International Journal Information Technology and Knowledge Management (IJITKM) and Serial Publication [p] Ltd., both are UGC approved journals.
Message from Dean
Higher education in India is undergoing a remarkable transformation. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) has been emphasising on outcome-based education, rather than the traditional exam-centric educational system which was followed in our country for centuries. In outcome-based education, the real learning outcomes of students are measured in an objective manner mainly to ensure that our higher education system is more accountable and quality-oriented.
Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology-SSIT ( A Constituent college of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education) attained the prestigious Deemed-to-be status from UGC in August 2009. Since then SSIT has revamped the curriculum and implemented major changes in the curriculum delivery to a very large extent. Now, the emphasis is on comprehensive continuous learning rather than rote and exam oriented learning. This results in students spending more time in the laboratories than in the classrooms. The submission of mini-projects for assessment has been made mandatory. This in turn helps the students in applying the theoretical concepts learnt by them.
We fully understand the vital importance of imparting life and communication skills to our students. It is mandatory for all the students in their third year of B.E programme to opt for the inter-disciplinary courses (Open Elective) offered by the SSIT.
We believe that the education received from our institution will translate into excellent career and job prospects for our students. At SSIT, we always work closely with varied industries, to fulfill the job aspirations of our students. In addition to excellent placement department, we closely collaborate with various industries at different levels. We encourage the industries in turn to play an active role as our partners in education.
Finally, ever since we became deemed-to-be university, we have made significant constructive changes to the traditional class curriculum to create stimulating learning environment for students.
